Christmas is a wonderful time for pie, Birthdays are the cliche for cakes or cakes separated into cups, but what about the rest of the year? Well for me, problem solved. I have a wonderful mother-in-law that gives me "coupons" for A sweet treat (which she usually delivers EVEN SWEETER) one per month. I posted a picture of the one from January, ya know the awesome wedding topper? Ya that was all thanks to the idea that deserts are not just seasonal. You can easily add to your waistline YEAR ROUND! HAha.. I was ever so blessed with this annual gift for the first time last year and we "renewed my prescription" to this again this year. so tasty, She is a cake genius! This month I wasn't sure what to pick so I vaguely mentioned something with oreos. Well, I gave her lemons and she made lemonade for sure! :)

Huggable, Kissable, SObelievable.

Today is one of the largest commercialized holidays of the year. Nothing like Valentines day makes you have to buy! buy! buy! Do we all forget that when these holidays were started they were for some religious or object-less reason and the old way to celebrate were through actions and gestures? My husband is totally NOT ALLOWED to buy me anything for V-day (kind of sounds like war times, sometimes is). I believe in more of the idea that he should make random gestures of love for me THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. If the only time he musters up enough drive to get me something or love on me is the required day, maybe we weren't meant to be. I don't mean to be a holiday grinch but really, I think the way we "must" celebrate in America is just ridiculous. Do something nice for somebody, why are we so infatuated with objects. The obsession with our things is out of hand. LOVE me or go away. I don't need your flowers today. I also don't want to make a huge neon sign for those without a certain someone in their life saying, "YOU CANNOT HAVE THIS HOLIDAY BECAUSE YOU ARE ALONE, HAHAHAHAHAHA YOU SUCK" I mean really. enough said.

Time is Short. I wish I could write to my husband a wonderfully prepared 234 page book on how many different ways he is a miracle in my life. I don't however, because we together have two other slightly shorter miracles in our life together that take up ALL MY TIME! As our anniversary month (it is hard to celebrate on the official day, so we have a month leeway).

Anyway just wanted to say thank you to my mother in law for making our wonderful anniversary cake and Thank you to my husband for being mine, I love you!

Remember when I said I would try to maintain more consistency with the whole blogging? Whoops...I guess that it comes with being a scatterbrained mother of two, the lack of being able to fulfill trivial verbal commitments. My most sincere of apologies. There isn't A whole lot fo blogging I can do, not very interesting things I can thing of typing. My brain is like mashed banana, steamed carrot puree, mushed peas...did I mention I have a baby who is pretty interested in starter foods? See so since my head is foggy-ed with all things baby how could I possible construct anything interesting that also made sense? I have come to realize in this stage of motherhood things about other mothers that is discerning and creates a lack of compatibility between they and I. Maybe I could muster up the sentences into a great blog next time around. Not today though. I am so sleep deprived I doubt I will even check this to make sure I spelled everything correctly. Soooo I leaf you know and talk to yous lata.

Halloween was fun this year! The first year I didn't have to worry about juggling work with a toddler. It was kind of surreal to be able to shop around for activities and go to more than one!!! WOW! So fun, we also got to go trick or treating and I face painted the boys! So much excitement. I could get used to this :)

I know it has been a month or so since my last post, but, I haven't been to a place with internet since my post...at least not with my computer at hand :(.

So, Andrew is 2mo. old now and growing splendidly, Charlie is loving being a big brother, and us parents, we are ready for some sleep!

I don't remember what exactly I was keeping on my mind when Charlie was this age, but with Andy there isn't a whole lot I can keep because there is so much on my mind. He has been quite the coo-er lately and that's pretty awesome, and he is growing at such a rapid pace he is quickly out doing babies twice his age! I love having both of them together, something else I didn't experience with Charlie. It's amazing to see there bond and the giggles they share :)

We are getting ready for Halloween and also thinking about taking on Thanksgiving, Going to see how that goes.

Also, We built a playhouse for the boys which is FANTABULOUS size. Just got it done and will have more completely finished pictures later, until then, these will have to do...

Heat record..ug.

We are only one or two days away from having the most days in the summer over 100 degrees in the summer EVEr! This makes me a little sad because Charlie is so bored and I Really really want to take him outside! So hot that when we do go somewhere, we have to have access to a place to nap because it has exhausted us so badly and the baby sleeps even more! It makes me sad :( I have the evidence of the difference the heat makes on my boys below.....

Our family is complete! Andrew is here. :) I am elated to have my boys all together and working on getting back to normal. (normal? what will that be, I guess I meant working on creating a normal for us.) Daddy Duty

As I am severely pregnant (STILL), and have been for a month or two, you can image how Charlie may become a little bored of me during the day. The limitations are endless and we try to think of creative things to do. None of the things we think up involve me physically doing much, which is why when daddy gets home he has twice as many requests for games that involve physical involvement.

Oh and what an awesome daddy, to step up and do physically what I cannot. Playing baseball (or trying? sports is more my thing), running, jumping, exercise videos (Charlie really likes the richard simmons ones :p), wrestling, chase, and the physically impossible for me,

Still pregnant, for now...

As the days roll on I have less than a week until my EDD. I think the baby really just wants to make sure we are really ready. We are almost unpacked all the way and almost cleaned and prepared. I think we have talked it over with everyone and plan on Thursday :). No pictures for now of us but When I get home I promise I will upload some in another post.

Big Brother (you've waited long enough)

So first off I wanted to apologize for how long I have gone without visually updating all of you, it may come to quite a surprise what Charlie looks like these days since the last time I posted I am pretty sure he was just a baby and now he is such a big boy :).

Also, with the arrival of a new baby soon I wanted to share with you all the signs Charlie has given displaying he is ready to be quite a great big brother. Between the many physical exhibits and the conversational tidbits there are a bit to many to start typing out what all has led to my believing he is almost as ready as I am to have the baby! :) Here is a little sign for you all though, evidence to tide you over for the time being.

Estimated Due Dates, and brick houses

Normally I am pretty sure those two things don't go together but, if you haven't been closely in contact with me then here is the time to talk about both of them to update all and anybody reading this blog!

Estimated due date: July 28th. ESTIMATED.
Some of the people who are aware of this are already planning on coming over to see the baby on the 28th. Others ask what time of day I will be going into the hospital bwah! hospital, as if. So if you didn't know when the baby was "due" there you go, mark the calander and sit in foolishness waiting. Either that or be completely unprepared for that phone call on the 26th you get from me telling you all about the baby. ESTIMATED kids, just remember that please.

So now onto the whole brick houses thing. I probably meant the singular form. Brick house. That is totally what My husband, Charlie, and I live in now! No more stupid apartment with stupid apartment-ness! I am so loving not hearing my neighbors doing their laundry through our ceiling! I am so loving a yard and the option of having a spare toilet at my disposal (good to have when you have boys around!). This also means that I have neighbors that are not connected to me that I can wave and smile at from a safe distance :). Internet also available from these neighbors which is beyond AWESOME!

So odd two subjects to bunch together but update done. talk to you soon mom. lol and anybody else reading :)

Things coming up

Charlie turns 4 in less than a month! Geez time flies, speaking of that I have 7mo. down and 2more to go until baby rainbow is due! :) Charlie is doing this really cute thing where no matter who he is talking to when he leaves, he reminds them to be careful and walk slowly! so silly!

So I am married :), Pregnant, and a stay at home mommy. I have a camera and a computer, no internet at home though. Our fourth went splendidly! Charlie was running around screaming, "I make a fire!!" It was quite entertaining! He was so great! I didn't take pictures because I don't have a camera. I fully rely on Karen and my mom. So if anybody knows of a camera I could get for not to much money that would be great!

Some good news!

Yay Fourth of July weekend Is almost here! Charlie is 3 and we get to do fireworks at "Daddy's" this year. Last year for fourth of July we didn't really do anything that exciting so it should be awesome! BTW for those of you who haven't talked to me I have a couple of things to tell you. "Daddy" is not the man that donated to create Charlie. He is the love of my life and will be for the rest of my life. He is Charlie's Dad now, whether by blood or no. That brings me to my second big thing, maybe not by blood but by marriage soon he will be Charlie's dad! We are engaged!

Yay! I think that is enough news and I have about an hour left of work so I am going to get busy and post while I am at mom's house over the weekend? Hopefully I can upload some pictures!

So here I am. Testing my blogging waters out again. A little chilly and empty. Maybe you all would have more interest if I had been more consistent these past 3 years? Yea, Life grabs you buy the horns sometimes and veres you the opposite direction from these little outlets in life. Sorry for the dismissal of this by me, I am sure you feel a slight bit abandoned. Well Charlie turned 3 Tuesday. I am sorry I haven't been keeping you all informed and updated on his ever changing life and his quickly growing mind and body! So on this the week of the 3rd anniversary of the birth of THE KING, I solemly vow to start updating again once a month! Charlie's Birthday party is Sunday and I will definitely get pictures from that to post!

Christmas wishlist

I know it's been a while and since I'm officially not pulling 11-12hour shifts everyday I have no excuse but I once again will be trying to post more... starting with Charlie's Christmas Wish list!

Here are some ideas

1. TOOLS ( you don't have to stick to Black and Decker but they sure are cool and this gives you some idea of what I'm talking about!)

2. PRETEND CLEANING SUPPLIES (once again just and idea, it could be a vacuum or some spray bottles to have "cleaning fluid" in or whatever, just something alone these lines!

3. KIDS SOFA (this thing is awesome, don't care bout the design, there's also a sofa chair that's cool, totally
at Wal Mart)

4. TRAIN STUFF (not just pertaining to the tracks, we love trains, planes, and automobiles! ) TAKEN!! he still loves trains, planes, automobiles and would love to receive such items but the train track is already to be gifted by someone!

5. PUZZLES ( we like the wooden ones but are slowly outgrowing those so if you want to get the real ones
we are doing the big pieces ones and even kind of desire a floor puzzle, if those still exist?)

6. BOOKS ( We don't do long ones yet but if you get an awesomely illustrated book he loves to look at the
pictures while I read him the story) (no link necessary)

At Work but gunna keep on blogging!

For the next month they shall short but frequent. Posts I mean. I will give you a brief update now of what Charlie has been up to, but not to long because once again...at work. :)

So story for this time, I was picking Charlie up after a day of work. He was happy to see me like he is everytime and he gets into this snuggle mode. As I put him into the car He said Plain as day " I wanna nurse". he didn't whine just said matter of factly. He said it all the way home and didn't complain when we didn't. We haven't nursed since he turned two. It was just amazing the connection that we made during our nursing relationship that even when we haven't for months and since he's started communicating more with words, he expressed his desire to. It makes me really sad we stopped. Really impressed that he said it so clearly and definitely knew what he was talking about and also happy that he loves me and we have such a good time growing together!

That's it. Been watching costumers while typing so sorry if it's fragmented a lot and misspellings!

SO I almost let this whole blog thing fall on the wayside once more! But a las one meesly comment reminded me about the blog world and my role in it. And now I must tell stories of my life in a manner that is not only amusing but full of pizaaz! I was a Numismatist for a while and even though I still wish it were so the wheel turns and I keep a'movin! After being unemployed for a wee little bit, I am now a manager once more for the Halloween Express. Here I am at the front right as I type this! Since I'm at work I have no fun Charlie or me pictures to share with you at the moment but will once more venture on in the blog life and never again forget what it means to me to have this outlet of which to share. More importantly never again will I forget what it means to all of you!

Burn baby Burn!!

Because some things have been going on, including the breakdown and recovery of my cadillac, we have been staying with my mom the past week! It has been fun for us to get to spend more time then ever with grandma although we are happy to finally be going home today! One of the things Charlie was introduced to and pretty much fell in love with while we've been staying here is mom's exercise video. Not only does it mesmerize him and stop whatever he was doing prior to the start (as seen in first photo) but as you will observe in the next set of photos he's pretty into adapting the exercised to more accomodate the baby body type as to optimize his baby fat burning! lol (It's cute but sad to know he's doing what he can to get rid of that adorable baby fat!)

like I said stopped in his tracks...

Here is his stretching position from here he can go into either of the two main baby exercising positions!

I would interpret this position as exercising his neck, upper back and upper arm muscles (you'll have to ask him to make sure that is what this exercise move is about)

we'd like to title this one "the ostrich pose"...I have yet to think about what muscles this position stretches and works because this move is so darn cute I get destracted!!

As you can see he is going to be a beefy workout god someday!! lol

Mama wishlist....

I told you I was going to create a wishlist of my own, and there are actually quite a few things I want. Most though, I can do without.

With my car in the shop and rent to be paid (while jobless, mind you) MONEY is the greatest gift this season. A giftcard to some clothing store, walmart, or target would suit me fine too. Another thing that may seem like a gift to Charlie but would be a GREAT gift to me would be a toddler mattress..I am pretty sure we have a frame coming our way for free...but as you might guess without the mattress it's nothing but an over rated playpin!

I got a whole bunch of cd's stolen 2 years ago so if you are into frivolous giving this season one of those would be nice...... the list includes the following;

and Of course movies are always fun and these are my top picks right now...

if your into baking, my favorites are chocolate chip cookies and brownies! (white chocolate anything rocks my socks though!)

speaking of socks, if your on a budget socks are always appreciated (unless they are boring and plain!)

I have a whole bunch of pictures that I have been meaning to get black frames for so if you wanted to get me fun frames I need 5x7 (let me get back to you I think that's what they are ) and one 8x10

It is that time of year again, when everyone starts asking what Charlie and I are hoping to get this Christmas. Every time I think money and love! That is what we NEED.. .but... here are a few things that we would be happy to have....

FOR CHARLIE....

Melissa and Doug Wooden Toys...(We like a whole bunch but to give you an idea..our favorites...)
1. A fun music set
2. A pretend mail set
3. Play food (I love the cutting food ones but all of them are neat)
We like a whole bunch on there but there is an idea.

Books....
1. Sandra boynton books we LOVE this author so of course, we have some
already. so avoid getting... Snuggle puppy, moo baa lalala,
the bedtime book, the belly button book, blue hat green hat,
and hippo's go berserk.
2. we would especially like But not the hippopotamus, But we love all of them
most of them are at Barnes and Noble

"Helping" toys....

1. Play vacuum (not this specific one, just an example)
2. Cleaning set ( I really like this one but again, just examples)
3. Metal pots and pans play set ( I can't find a link for this one)

Anyway, That should give you all plenty of ideas!

Absence of Good vibes....

Things in my life have come to a negative peak, although I wish this post was lighthearted and fun, that is not what is on my mind.

I have come to the conclusion that nothing is ever certainly as it seems. I am having some cloudy days here of late, my mind is unpeaceful. I wonder why life has to throw so many stones at once, it seems to work out that it's raining them. The hard stinging rain that you just can't get away from.

I am still, as always, optimistic that these things are happening for a reason and that if anything, these situations, of which I really don't wish to speak specifically about, will at least build my character and strength as an individual.

Charlie and I are fine and will continue to survive and fight to have the best we can, a few set backs along the way never stopped me before! ;)

I post, not to alarm any of you, but as an outlet of relief. I have not many options of where or how to let it out but bottling it up doesn't seem to be working!

Know that I appreciate all of you and any support you have given or will give me. I will be in touch and I have so many good things in my life (CHARLIE... HELLO!!) that I am sure this moment will past. I will have lost a few things I valued a lot but such is life, right?

Overcoming no camera...

Even though my camera is royaly messed up (not the camera but the memory card) I have found a way around that, a way to get photos of Charlie's adorable-ness to all of you. My new friend from Halloween Express also works at Sears portrait studio and got me a VERY good deal on professionally done pictures. With that and the plethora of costumes I temporarily "borrowed" from the store, here is a snipit of the pictures we got taken and that I ordered a lot of! If I have your address I am definately already planning to send you some, and if not...give it to me, give it to me now!!!!!

Lacking in Camera...

Hello all!

I'm at work again, since that's my only access to the internet right now, which also means that I don't have any pictures to post.

My camera memory card has also gone crazy so for right now I don't have anything visual to share with you all.

Nothing but narratives and monologues for you all right now. Charles Nathan has finally started walking, much to my dismay. I've been enjoying not having to chase after him in public places and now the stage of those kind of ventures has commenced!

He has also started throwing mild fits when he doesn't get his way, wonder where he learned that... finally Charlie is showing his human side, till now he's been ABSOLUTELY PERFECT..NO JOKE!!!!

Anyway I'm continually working hard and staying busy, so I will try to keep up the blogging thing. Writing away, even though I know the only reason you folks read this hear blog is cuz of the sweet pics of the wee one I put up!
Now that I'm done talking in that slightly annoying and moderately hilarious manner, I've got to get back to work.

Hey guys! I am totally at work right now so I can't post a long one with pictures or anything but I wanted to post to let you all know that I am still out there in blog world!

Work, Play, and Life

Mom is out of town, so this week I am stopping by her house to check on the dog. Inconvenient sometimes for me, great for all of you!

I have talked to my boss at Halloween express and I start work Friday! I am taking a management position too, so I'm moving up in the world!

Charlie is growing like a weed. This last week he came down with something and for a couple days had a fever. At the end of that he broke out in a rash. He's doing well now but last week was more stressful then most. Glad he didn't wait till my first week of work.

Last Tuesday, July 22nd Charlie turned 13mo old! Crazy how time flies.

Well I've got beth's kids with me so The news must stop here but I do have some pictures of the boy that I don't think I've shared with you yet.

There ya are...

Autumn (8) is beth's daughter (she' also has a son, as seen below).. Charlie adores Autumn and I am pretty sure the feeling is mutual!!

Andrew (6) is our other mini roommate and Charlie's new buddy..
Last, but certainly not least, Elizabeth my beautiful roommate..you can tell how much fun they have! (soon I will have a better picture of beth..this one just doesn't capture her excellence to the fullest!)

Um..I MOVED!!

Sorry I haven't posted. I have been busy packing and moving into my new apartment!
We moved up closer to Edmond just off of memorial. I don't have a computer so I wanted to let you guys know that my posts may be scarce for a while, what with my new place being a ways away from mom's house and the fact that on the first of August I go back to work!

SO much has been happening since the second I got back into town from visiting my dad that I just don't know how to manage it all! Please call me if you have my number, I'm sure I've neglected some of you lately and others of you may not even have my number!

My roommate is my friend ELizabeth and her two children, whom I watch for her while she works..so I'm also busy with that!!!!

Grandpa Lin

We made it home safe and sound and now we've had some rest from our trip to Ohio to see my dad. We got there Tuesday the 1st and stayed until Tuesday the 8th.

We got to see my dad's new house, meet his church members, and most importantly spend time with him.

While we were there Charlie started walking almost by himself (he never even wanted to attempt this before) So now we have a boy who is walking with a one finger handicapped! (he has to hold onto my finger still)

There was also this one place in grandpa's house that was more appealing then the rest...

Thanks to craigslist, WAY BEFORE HE WAS READY, I got a great deal on this little tykes car. Now he is old enough and enjoying it immensely!!

He has been taught (not by me) to honk the horn at anyone who is in his way...

Field Trip...

A while back I told you that Charlie and I helped chaperone a trip to the zoo for Charlie's cousin. Here are the pictures taken that day! not as much talk today, like I said last post, thinking of what to type with it is one of the reasons it takes me so long to post ONE LOUSY POST! anyway here you go....

Grandpa Lin!

Grandpa Lin came to visit a month or so ago, and we had some fun times. We got to see him a couple times while he was here and our visits included going to my aunt's house to have dinner with him, going to ardmore with him (roadtrip!), and going to the zoo with him!

Anyway I've been meaning to post this for a while so I'm not going to say anymore for fear of not posting..enjoy!

on the way back from ardmore he blew on his kazoo most of the way! (p.s. for those of you who had doubts of how much of a genius Charlie is...at around 7mo. he learned how to blow kazoo's, whistle's, and anything else that if you blow in one end sound comes out the other)

He had also not had a nap, so while he was blowing occasionally he'd close his eyes...in the one above this you can see he's having a hard time keeping his eyes open!

The time we went with my dad I forgot the stroller so he graciously rented one of the zoo ones for us, You can tell how Charlie delt with that tragedy!

More zoo times in the near future, just today we went with Charlie's cousin's class to the zoo. I feel old being able to Chaparone something.. (suze how do you spell Chaparone?)... anyway, we got up at like 6:45am to get ready!! I will tell you all about that later, for now, someone needs an ice cream sandwich....Sandra needs an ice cream sandwich!

CRAZY MONKEY!

No, I'm not talking about monkeys at the zoo, I'm talking about MY CRAZY MONKEY! Charlie is a great little monkey and he's growing so fast, I had to share the moments that we are having...

No, I'm not talking about the monkeys we've seen at the zoo the times we have already been. We got a pass and Have been going to the zoo a lot lately, but like I said, not talking about THOSE monkeys!

My little monkey is growing up SO fast that It's hard to capture it quick enough....here are my lame attempts.

Charlie is so grown up just sitting there on his own..... (p.s. he loves outside..pps. we are at his dad's house)..

He even likes to talk on the phone (just give us a call to talk to Dr. Adorable!)....even if it's not actually a phone, but really a rattle...
Now that he's got TWO TEETH he's getting into eating. We got a highchair lately and are ready to share all the cute (and goofy) faces he makes during 'meal time'...

Talking about big boy stuff, with assistance he's been drinking from a regular cup for a while, but just recently he's doing it ALL BY HIMSELF!!!
He also now knows how to blow a whistle, play catch (or ball hog), walk along the furniture, say mamamama, and he also has cunningly learned how to open cabinets!!

We went to the auto show at the fair a while back and Charlie got to drive his first jeep....

My birthday was one week ago and I still haven't posted. Shame on me!

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have been there, through thick and thin, for the last 18yrs. Now in my 19th year I hope to continue growing into the person I will be and continue having you all along for the ride......

Here's to being 18 and feeling 30!!

p.s. The saturday before I turned 18, Charlie turned 9mo. old! time flies when you have a baby!!

CARROT FACE, HAWK BOY!!

Since I posted Charlie has become an expert at climbing things and standing there, he has yet to walk along furniture or stand without support but I'm cool with that because that means he's a little less mobile then he will be!!!

Other things that Charlie has been doing that I've mentioned is eating. I am in the process of trying to catch the face he makes every time he takes his first bite. I already have lots of pictures of when he gets into mealtime and loves to have a good time with it!!

btw, My camera is pretty stupid, first it did that whole blurry thing for a while (thanks to my friend Lyndee, I know how to fix that) and now it's doing that weird 'wrong date at the bottom of the picture' thing. My apologies for that.

Male Model in the making..

Man! Crazy stuff has been happening here!

Charlie has been able to crawl for a while, but he's done this army crawl thing. Lately though, he's been getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. Another new thing he's been doing is pulling himself up to his feet ALL BY HIMSELF! He's only done that twice but still CRAZY!

I've also started making my own baby food which Charlie is taking to very well and loves "supper time". I have always debated how to introduce solids but I think I should turn that part of my brain and turn on the part where I do what I want to and think is best for me (and not everyone else and their babies).

Anyway, you all are probably saying, "What the heck does this have to do with your title??!"
Well, it doesn't but these do.....

Another Successful Visit with Godparents!

I know it's been a while, I repeatedly do this and then apologize, I know....I also promise to get better and then go back on my promise!! I'm sorry!

Here's is a little update..

We have been doing some traveling around town, and out of town too! Since last I posted we have been to Norman twice and to Charlie's dad's house a handful of times. We also visit our friends/family the Sowards occasionally. I started going to counseling this week too! Charlie is such a great traveler, Why not take advantage??!

Our friends Serena and her baby Lilly come up from Norman to see us 3 or 4 times a month So we decided to take a turn and go to Norman. We thought that would be only fair! Lilly is delightful and it is great to have a friend to talk to that is very similar and fun like me! lol

Wherever we go Charlie is great but sometimes it's nice to have people visit us! That is why when Charlie's godparents said they wanted to visit we were SO HAPPY!! We still also hadn't had our Xmas with them so it was a wonderful time! I have some pictures that They took with their high tech, no short of AWESOME camera so....I hope you enjoy!

Finally! some pictures...

OMG!!! Charlie is growing soooooo fast! Doing so many things!

He's got crawling down pat! I put him down and he's GONE!!! We have been busy with our playgroup, spending time with family and just the daily activities of a growing boy!!

Just the other day he FINALLY sat up on his own..(he could do it a while back balance wise but never wanted to..)

here's an update on this Charlie's 7month day!!!!!

Since Charlie has been growing very rapidly, I am sad to report to you Karen that he no longer fits in the wonderful hat you gave him! I am further saddened by the fact that it is still really cold and so I have had to find a different source of ear cover for the boy!

Fortunately we have great grandma Shirley, whose sister makes these.......(which I call a muff for the ears.lol.)..

I can't believe he's grown so much!!! Not only physically but developmentally! Besides the crawling, lately he has taken interest in drinking out of a big boy cup, and "eating" a few starter foods. That's it for now!

We have made it home safely!!! Charlie, once again, did fabulously traveling and overall it was a wonderful 3 weeks....that's right...3 WEEKS!!

Needless to say we are tired, but I wanted to let you all know that we are safe and home (although my luggage hasn't quite made it home) and ready to sleep good in our own bed again!!

Merry Christmas...a day late!

I hope you all had a very merry and wonderful Christmas. We enjoyed spending Christmas with my sister and her family. Charlie got some pretty nice gifts and we are thankful to been gifted time with family!

I didn't really feel obligated to post on Christmas, since we were busy with the holiday festivities (and blessed with splendid weather). So I now will give you a bit of an update!

My nephew James had a wonderful time learning that the pretty wrapped boxes under the tree actually contained things inside!! Charlie really isn't old enough to comprehend that, but all the same, enjoyed trying to eat the paper.

I did want to share with you a picture to help hold you over for a few more days until I can get more pictures up......so here it is.....

CHARLIE IS 6MO OLD!!

Man, it's crazy that he's already 6mo.! He seems to love being 6mo. I love it to most of the time, but today I'm not having as much fun as I would like. My eyes hurt and I am exhausted from dealing with Charlie, whose dealing with change.

We are enjoying our visit overall though and tomorrow is Christmas eve!

Charlie will once again get to see his grandpa Lin whose coming here for xmas and then it's off to my uncle's (not on xmas but a couple days after)

Since I'm not feeling well, today is not the day I'm going to manage to get pictures up, but hopefully tomorrow will be better!

I just wanted to post to let you all know how our ongoing visit is going. We took some really great pictures today of the boys together and hopefully I will be able to get those up in the next few days!

Our trip is going well and we are getting used to the schedule and environment around here! It is a little bit nippy outside, so we mostly just spend time in the apartment. That's okay though, because this gives us ample amount of time to spend with Susan and James!

BIG OLD SILLY!

We are having a wonderful visit in NC thus far!

James and Charlie are having a blast together, smiling all the time and speaking baby language among themselves. They are too cute and I wish all of you could see how well our boys interact! And how smart and observant they both are!

My title is what it is because I packed my fancy schmancy camera to take lots of pictures and then forgot to pact the memory card, sooooo I can't really take ANY pictures! We will be relying on Suze to take lots of pictures and then somehow get them from there to you!!

I am such a silly for leaving that, in the rush who can blame me though!

Sicko! (by sandra sylvester..not michael moore!)

During the worst of the ice storm Charlie came down with the stomach flu! It was not a fun few days, our power went off twice but not for very long. With a sick boy it seemed like forever though!
Eating was not a fun thing for Charlie during the sick days but he did find comfort in chewing on the tylenol bottle. (which by the way, my nephew liked too so I think it's a universal comfort thing.)

I seized the opportunity to take a couple pictures.....hope you enjoy!

Setting up for failure!

It will also be more difficult to do it while I am in N.C. , leaving Wednesday! I will be there for about three weeks and I'm not sure that I will ALWAYS have internet access but again, I will do it as often as I can.

Good thing I have a boy that is happy to help with the daily chores....

He doesn't actually like it when the job is done, so he elects to spend some extra time in the hamper...

Are we in Iceland?

I guess when I said I would post EVERY day I meant every few days! I was planning on posting everyday when to my surprise when I went to post our computer wasn't working. As well as our computer, the tv, the bathroom light and the oven weren't working! Don't worry our house didn't have that many malfunctioning appliances at once, we just lost our electricity (as well as hundreds and hundreds of others, who are still without it) due to this,

Now the storm has passed but the dangers now are all the falling branches (and whole trees!), because of the weight of the ice!

Haven't done this in a while!

Do you ever miss those days when I usta blog once a week? Do you ever ask yourself, 'self, why did Sandra stop blogging?'. If so your worries are over my weekly posts are back!

I would like to start off by saying I got a new camera!! So pictures are on the way! I also have been taking a few pictures with disposable cameras so I will have those up here so too. Maybe I will make December my personal Blog posting month! Myblopomo? Sablopomo? Anyway, moving on.

I check a few blogs and the most important one is my sisters, and I was just there and saw that she took a test that determined that she is pretty addicted to blogging. With all my old addictions washed away with the arrival of my baby, I have no healthy addiction (can an addiction be healthy?) so I'm hoping that this can be my thing once more!

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

Sorry I have been such a lazy person and haven't posted! I don't have much motivation to anymore since I don't have any cute pictures that I feel I must share with you all.

I thought instead I would put a little bit of an update on what the little man and I have been up to....

Charlie has been up to a lot, growing and such. He can now roll over both back to stomach, and stomach to back . I was told that rolling from back to stomach is harder, but that's the one he did first, just under 2mo ago! He just today did a complete roll and then looked at me like, "whoa mom, what just happened?!!".

Before Thanksgiving we were just doing the basic everyday things, and here and there we would go visit friends. He met his Grandpa Lin, Aunt Connie, Uncle Jack, and Aunt Nancy. As usual he was very much a performer and enjoyed giving them grins and struttin his stuff! (as much as a baby that can't walk can strut)

Also a few weeks back, because I am absolutely crazy and decided we could handle it, Charlie, mom, and I attended church camp!! It was a blast, my church family has really embraced me through all of this and I love being around them, and having a positive atmosphere for Charlie!
We stayed in the 'Mommy and Me' cabin. I was surprised at the turn out of moms and babies. I was also very thrilled when I found out that there were two sides of the cabin, one for babies who slept through the night, and one for those unfortunate few that don't. (I am now taking this time to say hi to suze, my sister, and that I am sorry to hear that James and her would have been on the less fortunate side if they were in attendence).

I have been quite blessed to have a baby that, since the age of 3mo, has slept through the entire night!!

At the top of this post I believe I said a 'short' update, so I'm going to speed things along.

On Thanksgiving we had an extra long day. First we went to his dad's family thing, where Charlie got to meet most of that side of the family. Then we went to the Sowards family bash and stayed there till about 10 or 10:30! He stayed awake almost the entire time we were with the Sowards and I think we are still off a bit on our sleeping patterns from that day of chaos. (it was fun chaos though!).

Okay that's all the update I have in me for now!

WISHLIST

I know that it's getting closer to christmas so I thought I would put together a short xmas wish list.
We've already got quite a few clothes and toys for Charlie coming from his mama (me..duh), dad, gma, and granny but I understand if there is something so cute that you have to buy it!

BUT... there are a few things that we need like more cloth diapers like these (not picky about color)
and with diapers you need inserts like these to do the absorbing. Charlie is such a big boy that he is med/large right now and soon will be in large, please keep that in mind.

Charlie has started to roll over and be able to move freely about the bed, which is so enjoyable to see him growing and learning new things but makes me think it's time for us to get of these,
I also thought this one was cool, and it's portable!! Of course I'm not picky about brands or exact things, as long as it's the general thing that serves the same purpose it's great!!

As long as we are on the topic of not worrying about specific products, I thought I might mention that, as well as growing out of clothes, he's growing out of shoes. I want some Robeez for him (size no smaller then 6-12mo). I really like the guitar ones but I'm not picky. I think you can find this stuff on ebay but I just linked you to the original site.

All those are for Charlie, the only thing I really want and need is a new digital camera. I don't have a link for that, but if you all wanted to band together and buy it for me I WON'T STOP YOU!!!

Anyway, enough of all the stuff we need (that happens to be kinda expensive), here are a few ideas for fun little things that we could enjoy having....

Soft block books (so much better for babies that like to eat as well as read their books)

Stacking toys ( I like the flame and rainbow, these will be a little hard for him now but not for long!)

But not the hippopotamus (a beloved book by all children I think)((Sandra Boynton is a favorite))

And any other books, we love to read board books as well as the soft ones!!

OK. Finally I got a list out.

WBWC!!!

The title stands for World Breastfeeding Week Celebration, which mind you, was back in September but my, o so colorful LaLecheLeague Leader (LLLL) Just now got the photos up. I wanted to share these photos with you all. Not only so that you may see some of my other breastfeeding mom friends, but also to give me a chance to express how wonderful and blessed I feel to be a breastfeeding mother. Breastfeeding is such a wonderful thing that a mother can give to her baby and, as some of you might know, we've had a lot of issues. So to have made it this far I am surely blessed!

A month ago....

We had a 3mo. celebration and I wanted to post again to share the pictures I have with you all. I haven't taken any new ones because sadly, my camera broke! I guess, looking at the bright side, this will give me the opportunity to catch up with the pictures I do have. I haven't posted lately because we have been having lots of issues that deserve my full attention...please keep Charlie and me in your thoughts and prayers.

On a lighter note for his 3mo. celebration about a month ago (can't believe he's already4mo!) John was here, and so were Charlie's godparents!! Charlie is soooo lucky to have the godparents that he does (I'm lucky to have them to) for many reasons, one being they have an awesome camera and love taking pics of Charlie! They were the ones that got the lovely pictures of the day he was born. Anyway, since they were here I have plenty of AWESOME pics to share from that day.

In celebration of his 3mo. and John's birthday too, we had a cake and the Dotts even brought some presents, including the ever helpful bumbo (i don't care what anyone else says about it).

Enough of me blabbering? gabbing? O well, enough of me talking on and on... with no further adu.....

I don't care what they say..the bumbo is great....(ever since we got it, everytime I put him in it he poops, I think he's potty training himself!!) That kind of looks like the start of a poop face to me..

I am now on the hunt for a camera, till then you will get to see some old pictures that I haven't been able to put up quite yet!

Dear, Dear, Enrique....

Charlie has grown so much and been doing so many new, and cute things I wanted to share more recent photos. I still have a few photos left from our NC trip but I will find some other time to share those. It's way more important for you to see how much Charlie is changing everyday!

Also, it's very important you all meet Enrique...Charlie's favorite companion! I got Enrique so Charlie could have a friend he could relate to and share the mexican heritage with...
The boy now smiles for pictures!!!!!!!!!!! He also is official cool because he's got a hoody!!

His shirt says "mommy's nuts about me!" He's such a big boy sitting up on the couch with his big boy pants on!! He's wearing big boy shoes too!! (note the long sleeves, summer is over!)

Babies and pregnant folks!

I'm still really trying to catch up, I didn't realize just how trigger happy (with the camera) I was in North Carolina!! Here are some more, not the rest, but some more very awesome N.C. moments...

While we were in NC we visited one of Susans friends, one who I happen to adore for many reasons, MEGAN!!
It's taken me so long to catch up Megan is no longer pregnant!! But while she was pregnant she and Charlie got to meet and it doesn't look like Charlie minds the big belly at all!!!

I hope so...I might not get caught up in time before I have devote all my attention to getting the house ready to have our Fall Festival Enrichment party for my La Leche League, which before I knew what was happening, I volunteered my house for!! Dinner Time/ Gwen and Olivia!

I know you all have seen pictures of Charlie in his bouncy seat at home but now you can see the North Carolina seat we used!!
Charlie loved to watch James eat, It was a great distraction that allowed me to eat my food!

everyone had a place at the table....

they apparently both got disinterested with each other for a moment...just a moment!
James has a little pal olivia who lives in the same apartment complex as him...she came over to play a couple times while we were there. James and Olivia both know a few signs and LOVED to use the sign for baby while we were there! Other then James, Olivia is one of the cutest toddler babies i've had the pleasure of meeting!

Not only do James and Olivia know signs, they are also both gentle and well mannered around the baby so i felt comfortable that she would shake the seat but instead just gently rock....

Olivia's mom, Gwen, also came to meet Charlie. (and play with James and Susan!)....

OK I know my typing wasn't very neat this post, but i am just trying to hurry up and post these pictures which i've had as a draft for quite some time!!!

I'm still trying to get caught up but i guess...once behind, always behind!! grrrr...

We had a celebration the other day for Charlie's 3mo. and since John was here we also celebrated his 22nd bday!! Charlie's godparents came and i baked a cake!

Karen and Greg brought their awesome camera and took some pretty spectacular pictures that i can't wait to show you all!! *sigh* as soon as i get caught up...

OOOOOOOO A FOOT!!!

I'm keeping to my word, here are more pictures. Sorry that it has taken me so long, I think I might have been sick. I am feeling a lot better now so I should be reeling out posts like no other now!!

this is still pictures just from our trip to north carolina. As I said last time and you might notice, he stayed fascinated in his cousin the whole time we were there.

Once we got outta the car and Charlie finally got to stretch out, James wanted to see the baby up close and personal...it took him a while to get to James' face...he first had to study those interesting things called feet!!

James was very good with the baby, he knew just how to act around the baby and had fun having a baby around! as you can see he's very pleased to interact with Charlie...

After James noticed I was taking pictures he quickly wanted to steal the spotlight and have pictures taken of him!! (he's getting so big, look at his teeth!)...

James really liked being around the baby, and knew how to have a gentle touch, so i could leave them there and take this adorable photo....(notice Charlie hasn't taken his eyes off his cousin yet!)....

They were both so interested in each other they would just sit there and watch each other, but James took his eyes off Charlie for a minute to pose for a picture......he's so photogenic!!

those are the pictures I got of the boys interacting when we first got there, It was so fun to see how interested they were in each other. I can't believe that in a year Charlie will be a big boy like James! (even crazier, I can't believe last year James was as small as Charlie!)

I plan on putting some pictures of aunt/nephew pictures real soon!!!

OTHER UPDATES THAT DON'T INVOLVE THE TRIP:

Charlie met his dad the other day, hmmmm...that's all i'm going to say about that.

I started working again, not very much but it's interesting and fun. Charlie is doing well with that. Mom watches him and brings him to me when he's hungry....we are trying to arrange that differently to help make it easier on Mom.

Charlie is tongue-tied....ask me if you wanna know more about that one.

Okay well, I will put more stuff up soon but I need to go tend to my sweet baby!!

MESMORIZED BY THE JAMESY!

I am sure you all have been on your toes waiting for me to show you pictures of my trip to North Carolina! I have really wanted to share them but have been at a loss for time and energy. After waiting for time and energy to appear so I could get all the pictures on, with all the explanations that go with them I decided this, I should put the pictures up in installments so that you get to see some. This way I can do things quicker and won't be taking on such a big project!

I got some pics of Charlie and I in the airport and on the plane, but only on the way back so those pictures will be later.

The first pictures I did take were of Charlie and James together for the first time in the car!

Charlie was fascinated by the big kid beside him everytime we went anywhere!
This is what he first thought of his cousin, and continued to think the entire time we were there...

As you can see Charlie stayed fascinated with whatever James was up to...

i wanted a picture of them together like this, i ended up taking it through the back of the car but you can see that Charlie is still interested and James is keeping himself occupied with a toy!
I know that does not satisfy very well but with shorter posts I will be able to do them more often so check back in a couple days and I'll have Pics of while we were there, and out of the car!!

Overwhelmed...sigh

I know, I know... I haven't gotten around to posting all the fun pictures and stories from our trip to North Carolina. For good reason though. I am still overwhelmed with all the stuff I left undone and all the new stuff that needs to be done on top of that! We had such a lovely time with my sister, but since we've been back I haven't been able to recover from the traveling..neither has Charlie.

Charlie has had the sniffles, I have school, work, and my eye exercises to deal with. Dhs is also a pain in the rear! Add legal matters to all that and that's my daily life right now. Someday though...I promise I will share the fun pictures and stories.

Since I haven't posted in a while, I felt kind of guilty that some of you haven't gotten to see how much he's grown! Also, as my sister pointed out, Charlie always makes the same expression in all his pictures. That is sad because he makes so many fun expressions I have many a time tried to capture.

I did manage to capture his mommy smile that I wanted to share with all of you right away, so you know what I'm talking about!!!

so here he is almost 3mo. old!!!

I am aware it's a strange angle but, he is to mesmerized by the camera if I hold it in front of him!
I caught the mommy smile, and that's all that matters!

What a week!

It is once again Friday evening and i have failed to upload this weeks pictures. I have been so tired and busy being in the moment I haven't had the time to really capture it. I do have a few pictures to show how much he is growing every week but i will have to put them on tomorrow in an all picture post.

As for tonight, I am going to dig a bit into what all has been going on this week so you can understand a little better why I haven't posted pictures yet.

I don't know if all of you know about how i am in vision therapy to try to fix some out of the norm vision problems I have suffered from, well I am. I go once a week for an hour long in office session and throughout the week i have exercises i do at home. Charlie's great grandma Shirley has been going with us and watching him while I am in my weekly session. This trip is tiring! I know your thinking, it's only an hour Sandra, but you are horribly mistaken. First off, great grandma Shirley lives south of us quite a bit and we have to pick her up. We then come back to my house so that I can eat something before the trip to the dr's office...which i might add is all the way in stinkin' Edmond! Then I am in there for an hour, after which we drive all the way to Shirley's house before we can head back home!

That was just Monday kids!

It has been such a long week that Tuesday and Wednesday are sort of a blurr in the back of my memory, I know we went a couple places that i thought up to go because little man doesn't like sitting at home!

Then came Thursday.....

I had a dentist appointment in the morning, which was the pits because I had to get up and get both of us ready, while being so tired from having a rough night with the king!
They cleaned my teeth which took like 2 hrs because it took so long to get called back. they also had to do x-rays and found out i have about 8 cavities! geez...Charlie is such a good guy though, I didn't have a babysitter so the nurses (which many had a lot of free time) helped watch him!
After that I headed down Portland Ave. to OSU/OKC where i got my text book for the course I am taking this semester (surprise to those who didn't know i was back in school!). While we were down there i also took care of getting my photo ID.
I needed to get the book because the class was that night! Intro Sociology in case anyone was interest.
After getting the book and ID we heading home for a rest and dinner before going to my late night class.
Once again, Charlie is one of the best babies, he hung out around campus with my mother while i was in class for 2hrs (there was a 10min break but still TWO HOURS!)

Now for today....

I had a doctor appointment today for me at 11am, so i got Charlie and I ready and we headed out...knowing we had more things after that so we weren't coming home for a while!
After the doctor appt. we had lunch in the area since we didn't want to have to drive all the way back home when at 1pm we were having a LLL enrichment meeting at the nearby library.

This time for the enrichment meeting we had an infant massage instructor come and demonstrate how to massage our babies...it was neat! Anyways we were there for that and chatting with the other moms afterwords until about 3 we left and got home at about 3:45 where we rested and got ready to have dinner with mom!

The day is still not over and I have more things to do....so there is an inside scoop, I hope you enjoyed and now better understand why I haven't gotten the pictures...

I'll put those up tomorrow or Sunday though....Look for 'em!

2 MONTHS OLD!!

CHARLIE IS TWO MONTHS OLD, SINCE WEDNESDAY!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHH.....

this past week has been full of fun! Charlie has been a little cranky this week but i have found out that he loves any kind of adventure and hates to stay in our house. We have been trying to keep busy because of that. Uncle John came to visit last weekend, he and charlie have staring contests that are pretty adorable. John is also very conscious of how fragile babies can be so this weekend was the first time he let me put Charlie in his lap, and he only allowed it for long enough to take the picture!

I had started to post this updated yesterday but it was stormy! The power went out and by then my moment of free time was up!

It is official that i am going to north carolina if you want dates just ask!
i don't have many pictures but the ones i have are pretty fun,

One Day Late Posting

sorry about not posting yesterday, i was just sooo busy! i am in the process of enrolling in osu/okc, and yesterday i had to go down there to take the COMPASS test! also, we had some visitors.

charlie has officially started chatting with us, he definately recognizes me and very often breaks out a HUGE grin! he talks all the time and is not afraid to coo at you if you happen to catch his attention! he's advancing in so many areas but that one is the most fun at this point. i have not yet captured these new fun things on camera or audio but if and when i do i will try to post it!

this week we also went to our first la leche league meeting! it was enjoyable and we look forward to attending more meetings. it has been so hot here that going was quite an adventure, since it's in the middle of the afternoon. the weather here is supposed to get better this weekend. it's even supposed to rain! that will be excellent not only because we hate heat but because we have gotten a stroller and have started taking walks!

i am still planning on going to see my sister in north carolina but it will not be as soon as i anticipated, i will definately be packing my camera and will have really REALLY cute pictures of charlie and james together and EVEN CUTER pictures of all four of us....(cuter because suze and i will be in them ;) )

i also didn't do as well this week taking pictures because we really have done a lot of new stuff this week and it has really kept us busy! but the few pictures i took that ended up being good i have put up for your enjoyment....

the belly is growing!as far as max is concerned.. charlie is his baby and he plans on protecting him!
he's starting to really make funny faces..

sorry about the lack of pictures...i will definately take more this coming week!

first, i would like to say sorry for the underlining, i can't figure out how to turn that off.

now to the important information...

it has been sooooo hot here that charlie and i haven't really been able to go many places. we still need to get out every once in a while or we both get cranky but they are always small trips to an airconditioned place!

i can't believe he has gotten so big!

in other news, charlie may be getting his first airplane ride very soon. i am trying to arrange a trip to my sisters in north carolina so that charlie can meet his aunt! (uncle, and cousin too!) that will be an interesting trip, please keep us in your thoughts and pray that the trip goes well! i will let you all know when the trip is set!

to set a routine, we have started charlie on nightly baths with grandma! some pretty cute pictures have resulted from that. we also give him baths to cool him off and wash the sweat and stuff of the heat of the day off him!

HELLO EVERYONE!

time for my weekly update. mom got home sunday night, what a relief! we did quite well all week though, and thank you to all of you who helped me get through the week!

during our week without mom i started thinking about whether to do the whole godparent thing for charlie. i never had godparents and i think it would have been such a great thing to have, so, i decided that i would look into it. after some research i decided he definately, should have them.

i consider a few women for godmothers and men for godfathers and decided on the perfect couple...drumroll please...lol...charlies godparents are karen and greg dotts!

i am so happy about that and how charlie is growing! he's SIX WEEKS OLD TODAY!!!
